Dear Readers and Supporters: Last March I told you about an anonymous long time friend and supporter of this ministry who fell on hard times, and a generous portion of you volunteered to help her financially to prevent her eviction and car repossession. Unfortunately, once again she and her child are in a similar difficult position, though a little bit worse. I hate to see this happen to her and not try to help in any way. So if once again you can help out with a financial contribution, it would be greatly appreciated. You can contribute to her through the link below. My hope is that we can raise around $3000. Thank you.

Saint John Maximovitch and the Jewish Patient Near Death

Once, during Bright Week in Shanghai, Saint John Maximovitch went to the Jewish hospital to visit the Orthodox Christian patients there.

Passing through one ward, he stopped in front of a screen, concealing the bed upon which an elderly Jewish woman lay dying. Her family members were nearby awaiting her death.

The Saint raised a cross above the screen and loudly proclaimed:  "Christ is Risen!"  upon which the dying woman regained consciousness and asked for water.

The Saint approached the nurse and said, "The patient wants to drink."

The medical staff was stunned by the change which had taken place in one who only moments earlier was on the verge of death.

Soon the woman recovered and was discharged from the hospital. Such incidents were numerous.
