Eleni lived in Karpenisi and was married to a very cruel man, who hit her for the slightest thing.
The hardships of life made her serve in the Monastery of Panagia Prousiotissa every August 15th.
She has recorded the following miracle:
"For a time, I worked as a paralegal for a doctor, who paid well but was also very cruel like my husband. One day I took the trash can to go throw the trash away and suddenly I heard a wail.
Reaching the bin, I opened the lid and saw a baby covered in blood.
'God, what am I going to do? Should I go to the doctor again, but I can't, because he threw it away, but if I take it home, my husband will slaughter me like a Paschal lamb.'
I took it, kissed it, wiped the blood off and hugged it, because it was a very cold winter day. When I got home, no one was there.
I said to myself: 'God is with me,' and after washing it, I wrapped it in one of my old shirts and made the sign of the cross over it, praying: "My Panagia Prousiotissa, grant that it may not weep!" And the miracle happened! The baby didn't cry for two years! I secretly fed him and nursed him under our bed.
When my husband would come home, my heart would pound.
Time passed and the child began to crawl. So one noon, while we were eating, the child sneaked out and came under the table.
When my husband saw it, his eyes rolled like a lion's. 'What is this?' he asked me. Then I made the sign of the cross and told him the secret.
He was moved and accepted the child as if it were his own! This child is now married and works in Karpenisi. From this child I have a glass of water, while from mine I have nothing!"
